Webcast Troubleshooting Tips

Not seeing the video on the screen?

The webcast page requires an Adobe Flash supported browser so please try our test site now to see if you are able to view our webcast video.
If you have arrived on the page early, you will see a black box, with the text "The video you are trying to watch is currently unavailable."; you may need to refresh the page to make the video start. You will typically see a title page appear approximately 5 mins before the advertised start time.
If the start time has passed, please try a browser refresh (the F5 key works in most browsers), as this resolves most connection issues.
If video does not appear after checking these things, it may be that RTMP streaming video is blocked at your location. Please contact your IT department to determine if this is the case.

Not hearing the audio?

Please make sure that the speakers attached to your device are connected, powered on and the volume is turned up. The video window also has a volume control that you will see appear when you move your mouse over the picture. The video on our test site has audio; if you cannot hear it, then the issue can be traced to your device.
Sometimes when the webcast has a very large viewing audience, the audio can get out of sync. It can take up to two full minutes for the sound to catch up to the video. If the audio does not start after this amount of time, please try a browser refresh (the F5 key works in most browsers), as this resolves most connection issues.

Webcast not playing on your iProduct?

The webcast video requires an Adobe Flash supported browser so it does not work on the Apple iPad or iPhone. On these devices, you may just see the live captions window.

The live captions window is telling me that it cannot connect.

We have a limited number of connections to the captioning company and once the number is reached, no additional connections for captions are available. It will not effect the video in any way. If people stop watching the webcast, the connection is freed up. You can see if new connections are available by trying a browser refresh. If you require a transcript, we can usually provide one after the event has concluded.
